Sensor Options

The BioStation is available with three different finger reader sensors. Each sensor type has its own advantages and disadvantages. Capacitive readers are more suitable for use with dirty or oily fingers - however they are more sensitive to damage. Optical readers are more robust however dirty / oily fingers do not read as well. Swipe (where the employee slides their finger down the sensor pad) is a compromise between the other two, but is only available with the basic BioStation.
